History

Your Sky Lantern has been especially imported from China where they are known as ‘Kong Ming Deng’, named after the leader of the three kingdom of China 184AD – 280AD.  When he was surrounded by enemies he watched the wind direction and used these floating lanterns to send out as signals for help.

The lanterns were then used by ordinary people, who used them to convey their wishes to heaven.  It is considered good luck to release a Sky Lantern which symbolizes your and worries and your problems floating away.

Traditionally Sky Lanterns are offered to Temples and monks, as the people believe that they will receive enlightenment in return; the flame of the lantern is said to symbolize wisdom and the lanterns light guides them to the ‘right path’.
